Shared Floor is a ceramics studio offering classes and space for makers of all levels. Our brand-new facilities are equipped with professional equipment, ensuring an exceptional experience for both beginners and seasoned potters. Do you offer any one-time classes/workshops?

We occasionally offer workshops. Check our Instagram or sign up for our newsletter for updates.

How do I get notified when classes open?

Classes are typically posted on the fourth week of the current class cycle. Check our Instagram or sign up for our newsletter to be notified once enrollment for classes open!

What should I do if I miss a class?

Classes must be made up during the session. While we do our best to accommodate students, make-up classes are not guaranteed and students are expected to attend all classes they are registered for. Contact your instructor to arrange for a make-up session. 

I can no longer attend a class I signed up for. Do you offer refunds?

When can I pick up work that I made in class?

Student class work gets fired within a week of the final class. You can typically expect to pick up your work at the studio a week after your final class. Contact your instructor if you have any questions.

What’s the open studio policy for students?

Enrolled students are allowed to use open studio hours as additional practice time outside of class. Open studio begins for students after the second week of classes; detailed instructions will be provided by the instructor. 

Does the building offer parking?

The Bridgeport Art Center offers parking on the North side of the building off of Racine.

Is there a work study/work exchange membership?

We currently don’t offer any work exchange opportunities.

Can I fire clay from a different studio at Shared Floor?

No!

Do you offer firing services for non-members?

Unfortunately, no. Bisque and glaze firings are offered to members and enrolled students only. 

What temperature do you fire to?

All glazed bisqueware is fired to cone 6 oxidation.

Can I gift a friend/family member/loved one a membership or class?

Unfortunately, we currently don't offer gift cards for either classes or independent study.
